Samarkand
Named after a turn-of-the-century estate that once covered the area, Samarkand is a cozy residential nook of Santa Barbara that is an island of tranquility. Located on a hill above Oak Park 5 minutes from downtown and delivering wonderful mountain views from many of its properties, Samarkand features homes from the 1920’s to 1950’s, many charmingly refurbished and expanded. There is limited outside access to the curving maze of streets, keeping the neighborhood quiet and peaceful.
